🔗 Share this article Vinted Members Voice Displeasure Over Sizing Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Online Platforms Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Updates Earlier, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Accounts Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Manual Updates Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
